About Me
Bio
Louise Pedno is a New York-based visual storyteller, photographer, and filmmaker. Originally from Montreal, Louise travelled the world while pursuing a medical career. Transitioning into visual arts, she graduated from the International Center of Photography in New York, with a certificate in Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism, and also received additional training in filmmaking at Maine Media. Louise’s photographic work has been exhibited widely across the United States and in France and Italy, and is in private collections in Canada. Her short film “An Afternoon at Denny Moe’s” has been well received in a number of festivals. She also published her first book, Hair Matters.
Artist’s Statement
I use photography and videography as a means to tell stories
about the world around me, to document the social landscape
that we live in. I am fascinated by our humanity, and thrive on
capturing moments in the life of strangers.
